MONROVIA – President Joseph Nyuma Boakai, Sr., has accepted the resignation of Mr. Christopher S. Peters, Sr., as Officer-in-Charge of the Liberia Drug Enforcement Agency (LDEA), effective immediately.
In his resignation letter, Mr. Peters expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to serve the nation and the LDEA. President Boakai extended his thanks to Mr. Peters for his dedicated service during his tenure, highlighting his leadership in significant initiatives such as the seizure of illicit drugs valued at US$4 million and securing long-term prison sentences for convicted drug traffickers through the Liberian courts.
In recognition of his contributions to Liberia’s fight against drugs, the President wishes Mr. Peters success in his future endeavors.
Meanwhile, President Boakai has appointed Mr. Anthony Souh as Acting Director General of the LDEA. The President expressed full confidence that Mr. Souh will execute his new role with the utmost commitment, loyalty, and dedication, continuing the agency’s critical work in combating drug trafficking and ensuring the safety and security of Liberia.
This leadership transition marks a new chapter for the LDEA, as it remains steadfast in its mission to tackle drug-related crimes and uphold the law in Liberia.
